Due to high winds and road conditions, Burke Central will be dismissing at 12:30 pm today. If this creates a hardship with parents who not at home, please call the school. Otherwise, we will have put kids on the bus. There will be no extracurricular transportation tonight.

Due to road conditions and poor visibility, Burke Central will have a virtual day today.
Burke Central will start at 10:30 tomorrow. No breakfast will be served and buses will run where possible. We will evaluate weather and road conditions in the morning and make a decision on how to proceed.
Due to the extreme cold, today will be a virtual day. Our buses will not start. Please have students complete their virtual learning packets.
Burke County just notified us that they have moved the roads to no travel advised. We were advised to dismiss early. We will be dismissing at 1pm today. If this creates a hardship with parents not at home, please call the school. Otherwise, we will have put kids on the bus. There will be no extracurricular transportation today.
The Portal bus got stuck and will be delayed 30-45 minutes in dropping off students. All students are safe and warm, they will just be late getting home.
Due to the blizzard warning, Burke Central will have a two-hour late start tomorrow, December 18th. Breakfast will not be served and buses will run where possible. We will let you know as soon as possible if a decision is made to cancel.
The Columbus Bus Route will be going back to the big bus starting this afternoon. On Monday, Mr. Argosino will be picking up all students on the route at the earlier time.
Cold days got nothing on us! The 5th and 6th graders delivered hot cocoa to the entire school today as part of our December Christmas calendar. It was tasty!Â
