
Burke Central’s participants in the Burke County Spelling Bee!


Parent Teacher Conferences are tomorrow February 20. Elementary conference schedules went home last week. We can't wait to see everyone tomorrow night!


We are working to add to the stuffed animals collected by Stanley School to be donated to children's hospitals in North Dakota and surrounding states. We are extending the drop off date to February 25. Please help us make a goal of at least 75 stuffed animals!


The Columbus bus will not start. As a result, the Columbus route will be one hour late today.

Due to the extreme cold, Burke Central will have a two-hour late start tomorrow. This is to give us time to ensure all of our vehicles can run. There will be no morning sports transportation provided.

Our 3rd to 6th grade students attended the Annual "Young People’s Concerts" at Minot State University!
This is the 2nd time we have attended and this year the concert focused on how music moves and can move us!
In partnership with Carnegie Hall’s "Link Up" program, the students were able to play, sing and dance with the Minot symphony orchestra. Indeed, it was a musical adventure to remember!



Due to roads and low visibility, Burke Central will have a virtual day; There will be no school. We will be in touch for extracurricular transportation later today.

Due to weather and road conditions, there will be no school today at Burke Central. Students should work on their virtual learning packets day 1.

After consulting with the Burke County Sheriff's Department, we have decided to move up the dismissal to 2:15. Tomorrow, we will have a 2 hour late start (10:30am). With the forecast, please keep in mind that school cancellation is likely for tomorrow (November 20th).

Burke Central School will dismiss today at 3pm due to weather and road conditions. We will let you know as soon as we can about tomorrow. Regardless of what decision we make, I would like to remind parents that if they feel it is unsafe to send their kids, please let us know, and the absent will be excused.
