Geisel had an alternate pen name that he also wrote under which was Theo LeSieg. LeSieg is Geisel spelled backwards. 3. He wrote and illustrated 47 children's books before his death. 4. First child's book to be written was "And to Think I saw it on Mulberry Street" in 1937. It was rejected 27 times before published. 5. "Green Eggs and Ham" was written on a bet by his publisher.
