Interesting facts about Dr. Seuss:
1. Theodor Seuss Geisel, popularly known as Dr Seuss, wasn't a real doctor. Instead he used the honorific "Dr" in order to appease his father who expected him to study medicine.
2. He used the name “Dr. Seuss” by 1928. Geisel had an alternate pen name that he also wrote under which was Theo LeSieg. LeSieg is Geisel spelled backwards.
3. He wrote and illustrated 47 children's books before his death.
4. First child's book to be written was "And to Think I saw it on Mulberry Street" in 1937. It was rejected 27 times before published.
